I'm a glass half full guy. Truth is that this was always a "homeboy"(in the words of Opie&Anthony) hip hop site - and there is nothing wrong with that. Thus the fact that one can occasionally find an intelligent discussion is good, but not something I expect. It was the same for the other site.

This forum has always been an unintentional satire of intellectual discussion.

Both of these things are true and I mean no offense by this. Also HL regulars are why trolls get any traction, but I've explained that too many times.


As for KTL vs. HL, it's the same thing. I know because I used to lurk KTL before I even registered for . It had dry periods just like this after an election. It's just that everyone knows each other now. Go back to the first month of HL, I was posting up articles almost everyday, basically making education my niche, no one responded to them. TWISM posts up stuff, and it is read but no one responds to it. The point is, most participation is HL is passive. It gets a lot of views but few responses. Even less now that we have the college and careers sub-forum. KTL was like that too, it's just that posters were more distinguishable.


You also all make far too many assumptions about how mods and admins act.

When the next big thing comes around, people will be in HL again. It goes in cycles.
