melo fits next to DJ much better than blake, but the move wouldnt really make them better unless they get some other solid pieces with him.

melo is getting older and isnt a good defender. they would need a bigger two guard, and stretch 4 that is a good defender to put them at a contender level.

blake and kristaps doesnt fit. hes not ready to play the 5 on defense, and blake cant stay healthy.

I think Blake would be motivated and as long as he was healthy I could see him getting back to that 23 12 type level of player that he was. He just needs to play down low more and stop shooting the mid range jumper so much. Melo would ball out too in LA cause Paul would get him so many easy looks but I still don't think they would go any further than the second round unless they found some damn good players at the 2 spot (KCP) and the 4 if they would be intent on playing Melo at the 3 spot that is.

Neither. At least Melo can create his own shot, nobody on the Knicks can do that besides Rose, and that's even if he stays.

I thought the idea of Melo to the LAC would be to have Blake on the roster as well. A CP3, Blake, Melo & DJ roster sounds very good on paper & could be a legit #2 in the west unless Kawhi gets some help or LMA finally starts to play like Blazers LMA.

have the knicks ever made it out of the first round with melo?

Yes they got to the 2nd round against the Pacers. That was the series that Roy Hibbert was EMBARRASSING Tyson Chandler. The other 2 times Melo got the Knicks to the playoffs, they ran into Boston & Miami in the first round :yeshrug:

FYI all

Basketball insiders did an article on this potential trade and if Blake opts out his contract to re-up for a new contractthis trade is impossible. Sign and Trades requires Blake giving up his Bird Rights salary increase for the trade to happen.

I am not sure if there is a way to do this trade without the increase, but I do not think this is really on the table for the Clippers.
