Who came up with this narrative that owning a business is easier than a 9-5?

It’s not just Coli nikkas, it seems like the internet has just taken this notion and ran with it. Now granted, I do see people opening businesses left and right on my IG/FB/Twitter. I do understand that you most likely won’t come anywhere close to your max earning potential with a 9-5. But owning/running a business is hard as shyt nikkas...not only do you have to invest in it and work hard, but there’s a big chance it won’t even flourish. People need to stop acting like choosing stability over high risk/high reward are making the wrong decision.

I don't think I've heard anyone claim that it's easier :mjlol:

Running your own business is rough but it's far more rewarding than a 9-5. A typical job has it's ups and downs, but it's predictable and 'safe' for the most part. A business has some high highs but the low periods are legit tough. You have to push through the feeling of wanting to quit when things aren't going right, and you really learn to work with a sense of ownership. The mindset approaching a business is COMPLETELY different that of an employee. Truth be told, it's not for everyone. :ld:

That California Lifestyle ...
No one said it was easier :comeon:

The argument was that you have your own future in your hands and more likely to be wealthy that a normal 9-5, but still gotta put in work.

Southern California…
I usually hear that from broke geechies or dudes with minimum jobs , talking that bullshyt, acting like it’s easy money coming in and u can relax

This goes back years to these brothers and sisters and real estate and many of them lost homes( LIKE MY COUSINS) that was handed down to them and they used it for collateral for real estate and lost it

Running a business is 24/7 non stopped because number 1, u dealing with competition and even worse debt

Also, job stability isn't wrong, but there's a definite ceiling that you're going to hit. Even high paying careers have limits because you're just trading more time for more money. Until you get to the point where you can duplicate yourself and get your money to work for you, you'll be limited in lifestyle to a certain degree.

As a business owner it isn't easy.
But if you are working within your passion that's not an issue. The first 3 years will be a struggle depending on your responsibilities prior. But even the struggle can be fun, exciting, enlightening, educational etc.... ultimately life changing.

If you scared go to work.

It's not easier but it's more dignified. Being your own boss is a powerful feeling because you're not alienated from your own labour. Initially when you own your business it's a lot of hard work, you'll likely be the first in and last out.

Over time as the business grows you may be able to delegate responsibility so you're not as involved but you're still likely to be 'on call' and have to respond to problems that other members of the team cannot solve on their own or need manager approval for as they pop up.
