Breh, you post a pic and say "why do you trust these people?" I don't trust one source; I trust a compilation of dozens. I know how to use metacritic to my advantage.
And I'm talking about the arguments that are brought up by other people. I'm done defending my stance on metacritic. I literally just did it earlier in the week. This shyt is old news.

Ever since I came to the Arcadium, metacritic was always spoke about on here. I don't personally rock with it but nikkas have always deferred to it when trashing/praising games. Not really a new development on this side.
I notice in the past 2-3 or so years people been taking reviews as gospelbut before that no one gave a shyt about reviews (which is why a lot of review sites folded during the previous console era). Why the care for it now, shyt is really

April 23 2013 would fall under that 2-3 years..
In 2016, the hype and/or trashing of a game is more fun than the game itself to gamers.

So how do you propose we measure the term 'critically acclaimed'? Why is Diablo 3 more critically acclaimed than UC4 for example?

ive truly enjoyed (for the most part) the transformer movies... if I went by this forum, I shouldnt of even bothered watching them
I honestly shouldnt of put critically acclaimed in my other post in the other thread, but if I just said it was about the sales (video games, for the most part, are unlike other hype machines, its very rare for a game to be a great seller and at least not have some redeemable features about it) then people would say sales dont matter..
Diablo 3 is one of the best selling games of all times, and its changed a lot over the years (Blizzard constantly trying to improve it). Id imagine that scores a lot of points with critics (I personally didnt like Diablo 3 much and im a huge Diablo stan.. Diablo 2 is my all time favorite game.. )

even removing what I said in the original post here (which holds a lot of truth to it), games now a days are always evolving (for better or worse) through DLC/expansions and content patches. Metacritic does not take this into account because what a game may of got a bad review when it first released, the company may have fixed those issues and could be a great game today...
A prime example of that, if you go to the Rust server thread, the game looks 0% like how it looks in the original post.. The guns, crafting, map, graphics have all changed.. Some things better, some things worse.. so reading a review of Rust in 2014 from metacritic would hold 0 value for it in 2017 because outside of the name Rust, it doesnt even even share many same things (just the theory of survival) as back then..
Or we could use your example - Diablo 3, it is NOTHING like it is in 2017 as it was when it originally released.. Between expansions and content patches, outside of the look of the game and the characters back story, the only thing similiar in 2017 as to its release in 2013, is the name Diablo 3.
which is why Metacritic is 100% useless. The only review that should matter, is yours. Play a game, if you like it, you like it, if you dont, you dont
At least now we have Twitch to view games before we play them, to see if its even something we'd even consider liking
