If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on LaMelo, and he could definitely be it if his game makes a couple leaps forward. Cuz is a 6'7 Point Guard that has the passing down pat, and shows effort on defense, so, coupled with his size, that guarantees that he'll at least be a positive impact defender.

The face of the league needs to be at least a transcendent offensive player, and a good overall defender in order to meet the skill requirement of that role (Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, and LeBron all met that criteria. Shaq is the only one that would be questionable.)

With that said, no one in this generation is there quite yet. I wouldn't call Luka or Zion transcendent offensive players, and they both suck defensively. It's a bit too early for Lamelo.

Bron is gonna leave a void when he retires.

Nobody moves the needle like him :yeshrug:

Nah. Its not about LeBron as much as the fact the talent in the league is just worse now. After Jordan left the NBA got lucky that Kobe came up right after him. The void now is more about the lack of talent than LeBron being irreplaceable. Keeping it a buck, LeBron isn't even that exciting to watch. Most of the interest he garners is because of the drama surrounding him than the aesthetic appeal of his game.

The wheel will keep spinning. The League is in great hands. Yeah theirs no “generational” , larger than life like player ala MJ, Kobe, LeBron but there’s So much young Talent... it’s not like the league will be going under or some shyt :mjlol:

I’m focused on what I see on the court, not narrative led stories to fill hot take shows and trending twitter topics :unimpressed:
