Wayne is and was probably more popular than Ja ever was (Ja probably sold more records in a 4 year run but different era) so it would be hard cause of the rabid following. But its possible.
It would have to be a rapper as popular or more credible....and (most importantly) it would have to be a situation where Wayne attacked that rapper first so as to not seem as opportune.
I guess if suddenly Jay-Z or a Kendrick Lamar (big up and comer on that cusp) got into with him and dissed Wayne in his current state.

His beef with 50 coincided when people were already beginning to tire of the pop music him and J.Lo were oversaturating the market with.
Add this to the fact that he never REALLY had a fanbase. Just wave riders.
