Breh you're agreeing with a poster who said dark skin is masculine and light skin is feminine. I, personally, have no problem with people having preference either way (I have a preference for darker skin men) it's when people become exclusive and start to degrade the other side or simply write one side off because they don't match said preference. Like looking at a dark skin woman and believing she's unattractive simply because she has dark skin.

I'm only agreeing with that specific post that he made, nothing else. I don't believe in dark skin being more masculine, but I hate when people make blind assumptions as if it's fact. Even people who don't degrade darker skinned women get false assumptions made about them which is what I have a problem with.

I think people confuse teasing with jokes sometimes though....Because lets be honest you see ALOT and I mean ALOT of lightskin/yellow jokes out there.

The only real difference is the insecurity that a lot of darskin people have....insecuritys that may be caused by society or just they own perceptions.

I don't like the idea that's put out there about black people maliciously clowning dark skin people on some bully shyt though...That aint the case in most cases and doing so puts dark skinned people in a victim role which only adds to the myth which adds to the insecurities,and makes them take the jokes in ways not intended

Yeah some are jokes, just like some people clown fat people are just joking but you have to understand it hurts to be told by both the outside AND the inside that you're not good enough because of your skin tone and that's what dark skin children have to deal with. I'm sure you've seen the doll test where people think the dark skin child is uglier, dumber, and all types of negative connotations.

I wasn't blaming black men for anything, just that you guys have a tendency to blame black women for everything wrong in the black community and leave black men's hands clean.

I never said black men are blameless. My stance has always been that they don't deserve ALL of the blame.

There's a lot of ignorance within our community and this idea is based on that ignorance.
To be honest, now a days a lot of blacks are more critical of our own kind than a lot of non-blks in some respects, so it doesn't help.

People who make a big deal about IR dating for their own racial agendas and self hate are capitalizing off ignorance to justify their self hate even tho stuff like this does sometimes happen in our own race.

To be honest, as a teacher I see how blk boys start young with the idea that lighter skin/curly hair is beautiful and they clown darker girls, just as much as some young blk girls ignore good boys and vs versa. People don't want to hear this b/c it's an embarrassing part of our subculture.
I also hear blk men clown us about our hair. I have a homegirl right now who is dating a dude who complains about her twisting her hair up at night b/c it's not sexy. But then you see stuff like this in the media


And that's where these rumors start. There are similar IR myths about white women and blk men based on perceived ignorance, but all of this is just a trap of stupidity.
Many in our race don't cherish each other if they don't fit certain narrow criteria: thug in a business suit, light skin/long hair/big ass/Hoover mouth.

This just makes it easier for non-blks to come in and play knight in shining armor or save the darkies from themselves.

But what is interesting about this to me is the amount of verbal abuse I hear blks give towards others in IR relationships, when chances are you wouldn't have normally given them the time of day...
