The only reason you think black men "shyt" on dark skin women is b/c u are mostly on AA oriented forums where black men discuss black women at all. What you see is what you come to believe. Ok, but I've heard other black women talk about how their black mommas, friends, female family members etc would bring up their dark complexion in a negative way when they were growing up usually referencing them as being the exception to the norm.

I personally think the strongest resentment for dark skinned women comes from other black women.

I've heard it to from a friend of mine (although for her its both black men and women) but let's not shift blame to one side. The hatred of dark skin comes from BOTH.

My mom, aunties, nor any of my lighter cousins/friends EVER made fun of me. Hell they would even say they wish they were my skin tone so that they could stay in the sun longer.

Agreed, and to be quite honest...when it comes to black majority online forums....it seems like black men fight the hardest to combat the stereotype that they don't find dark skinned women attractive.

I've seen what appeared to be universally unattractive women (who happened to be dark skinned black) get the face and "I love chocolate dark skinned" comments more than I can remember.

It really is a question of what people want to believe....sometimes it's a perception of what they want to believe in some weird warped way.

I've seen threads on a variety of black forums for years now...where a picture of a dark skinned black woman is put on display.....a 100 black men will comment on how "pretty" she is and how they would wife her...and ONE black guy comes along sayin he doesn't find dark skinned women with "nappy" hair attractive and the discussion COMPLETELY spirals out of control and that discussion revolves around that ONE guy's comment, and people pretend as if the other 100 didn't exist
