Got this thread idea when I watched this video.

It seems like a lot of men put on a front like they don't care at first but then over time they start to miss their exes more. With women I think they get all their tears out early and move on.

Another thing I noticed is related to old couples. When a man's wife dies the man dies shortly after, whereas when a woman's husband dies she lives as a widow for years to come. Dying of grief or a broken heart is a real phenomenon by the way.

Who truly deals with breakups better?

In the short term immediately after the break up, men deal with it better. Over the long haul, women BY FAR deal with breakups better.

You hear dudes all of the time talking about exes they broke up with from a year or more earlier. You rarely get that from women. A dude will still be bytching about a breakup from eight months ago and shyt.

It's probably because women usually get all of those emotions out right after a breakup, while men obviously hold their emotions on the inside.

Edit: The OP pretty much hit it on the head.

it's socially acceptable for women to "cry" "bawl" "sob". Crying is a HUGE cartharsis and release of emotions. after crying for a week or two we can usually move on with relative ease. men stew on the emotions of bad breakups for months sometimes even YEARS because they didn't get that initial "release" of emotions.

It's dangerous to cover hurt with hard because you still get scarred through that feeble facade.

pretty accurate but id switch the last pictures. months later after she gets ran thru a few times and realizes its hard to find a bf, she'll start crying, while dudes remember how fun it was to run free game. men are a lot more content with being single for long periods of time.
