Em may of saved aftermath and probably Dres career but Snoop turned Dre and Deathrow into superstars and gave Dre his initial classics that we all remember.

Depends on how you look at it.

I'll say that Dre got more for less out of Eminem. SSLP was pretty much spoken for save for the singles. At first glance i'd say he was much more hands on in giving birth to the snoop dogg that we know.

50 and Em to a lesser extent had time to bubble and gain a following that got much bigger when standing next to a brighter light. When it comes to snoop, it feels more like Dre is the one who lit the match...snoop dogg doesn't exist to me before 187. Doggystyle, while it's own album almost felt like a spin-off or continuation of the chronic.

Em is the reason why Aftermath(Dres own) succeeded and eventually found 50 cent, with eventualy found the game etc...

He started Aftermath with Death Row money in 96...he hadn't even heard of Eminem at that point. And both Chronic and Chronic 2001's would've been classics without Eminem.

Without Eminem Dre would prolly be played out and considered a flabby 90s rapper:ld: sure the music may have been the same but without Eminems cac fanbase buying 2001 the impact wouldnt be there:ld: just look at his album that came out in 96:ld: Em definitely saved Dre's career and catapulted him into icon territory regardless of how we feel personally about Ems music, but thats obviously not to say Dre wouldnt be a legend without Eminem, NWA and Death Row is more than enough.. but Snoop wasn't even signed to Dre anymore by 96.. without Eminem we dont get beats by Dre, he doesnt become a billionaire, and he doesn't have 50 Cent, Game, Kendrick prolly wouldntve signed cuz aftermath wouldve flopped 15 years prior.. he'd just have Death Row, and if thats enough then why doesnt Suge get praised enough, he brought 2Pac to Death Row after all:mjpls:

Im not saying Eminem hands down did more for Dre's legacy than Snoop, but it's not as ridiculous to think as coli posters are going to make it seem

Might as well add Cube to the poll as well, he'd probably get my vote.

Aftermath existing and aftermath being successful are two different things. I don't think you can replace Em with anybody remotely poppin at that time or from Dre's camp and get even a fraction of the results.

Dre can't be denied as a catalyst for some of the most potent rap albums/songs/movements but nobody really wants to see or hear from him as an artist which is why his label debut flopped. He was always going to need another "snoop" or some dynamic artist to introduce his vision to the masses.

And truth be told Em ain't just put aftermath on his back...he was carrying the parent label/company too, still is.

Then you have 50 who em brought to the table which adds another branch to the tree.

And it all links back to Dre and his co-sign on a level that even dwarfs his stake in death row (that suge was gonna kill him for :whoo:)
