NFL Draft 2013: Jaguars looking to trade No. 33 pick - Big Cat Country

The Jacksonville Jaguars are shopping the 33rd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, sources tell Big Cat Country. The team picked up Luke Joeckel with the second overall pick, which should give the team a good pair of starting offensive tackles. The team will be looking to add more picks in the second round however.
It was reported by Mark Long of the Associated Press that the Jaguars would not be drafting a quarterback with the 33rdoverall pick, and as expected the team is shopping it hard, despite the fall of quarterbacks like Geno Smith and Ryan Nassib. The team would like to pick up at least another mid-round pick to slide down some.
The Jaguars can field calls for the rest of the evening and all day on Friday to find a good offer for the first pick in the second round.

That original tweet was sent around the time they were still in the top 10 of the draft where it was expected that only Barkley and Nassib would be left. Something tells me some of you Jag fans aren't too high on Smith who I am extremely high on. Oh well, your lost. I really never care much for your wasting time on TV asses ever when I used to be in South GA.

NFL.com reported that Nassib was they guy on the Jags list. They weren't sure if this was the Jags first choice, or they figured that Geno would be gone. Take that for what it is. :ehh:

This is a critical choice and one just as important as having the first pick in the first round in some aspects. You have the chance to take the best player available and hopefully have two bookend picks in your first and second round choices. But the question is do the Jags feel comfortable with Blaine Gabbert? If they don't i think they have to take Geno or Matt at least to provide some competion at the QB spot. Even Mike Glennon could be a suprise choice. But if not they could always go for someone like Manti Teo, Tank Carradine, or a Zach Ertz if it is about taking the best player available.

Ertz would make sense

I'd rather get Jordan Reed tomorrow :manny:

safety,corner,defensive end

any of those would be good, which probably means you should trade back if you can

Are we really trying to go into next year with Gabbert and Henne as the only QBs on the roster? Unless they really believe there is marginal difference between a 2nd round and say a 5th round QB in this draft, I'm all for drafting Geno here.
