If my grandmothers were living it would be them. They had this real nurturing quality about themselves, this spirit that they had in them, just hard to put in mere words. Im the youngest boy in the family so in some ways I was spoil. Spent alot of time with her, taught me how to cook (along with my mother) and slow-dance (must've been like 9 or 10). They always told me to always try to be an understanding individual (and i am in certain aspects.) And that a good listener makes for a good learner. The both of them were polymaths.....Renaissance black women. I credit them for developing my eclectic sense in music and other arts. Outside of my grandmothers, my mothers and my sister. I truly don't think any other woman understand me. Some claim to do.........majority don't in my situation.
I could talk to them about certain things i was going through at the time
and didnt have to worry about the typical scolding i would receive from my parents.
