Lunch is my break, if I'm not seriously tight with my coworkers bruh I don't wanna talk to them or hear about their day, I don't care what they got going on. We not in grade school no more ain't no mandatory cafeteria time. Especially if you work near a park or something. I'm tryna eat and maybe take a nap or go for a walk

And there's ALWAYS that one coworker who brings the foulest smelling shyt to eat wanna be in everyone's face talking at the same time

Being able to eat/smoke/relax on the couch at lunch >>>>> sitting across from a coworker eating and having to humor their small talk

Yes, you wild breh, it’s not that serious. No one cares that you eating. So you can where ever you eat.

I had a job that had a little break room shared between 2 departments and a lot of us still ate full meals at our desk

It always trips me out when on TV they show people going to sit down at a restaurant across town or something for their lunch

Yea, you can only do that on “salary” jobs.

I few jobs I had, we used to go to the restaurants in our area to eat

But I feel you op, when I was in the office I couldn’t stand eating in the break room or the caf without the brehs/brehettes I was cool with. Even then, we never ate in there either, we was out getting food and a drink elsewhere.

There’s something innately depressing about eating in there, especially alone

I like to eat, read, and relax. No room for anyone else on my lunch. I absolutely duck everyone. I fukk with plenty coworkers tho. OP sounding mad antisocial on some mass shooter tip. Respectfully.

I just dont like to do anything vulnerable/personable around co workers

That includes talking about anything personal (besides pets ,movies/TV shows & my favorite football team), but alot of my co workers don’t even know what I like to eat, genre of music I like or if I’m taken/single etc. They don’t even know what car I drive (don’t want cacs gettin jealous).

Yet we have long convos all the time with them mostly talking/spilling info .

I also just like to fukk their heads up

I also noticed people put you on a weird pedestal at work if you do this.

I used to go to my locker and eat, nobody was their and it was the quietest place in the building. I feel you, if you're there just to make money and go home this is the move. This ain't highschool, we're only here cause we have bills.

Currently, I eat in my car because it’s too much shyt going on. I need alone time here

Last place, I usually ate at desk. It was a lot more chill of a place than now, and walking down a hill to your car was just crazy in the summer. If I walk to my car I’m going home..

Plus it was hands on more, I could literally eat and work.. not going to no bs meetings

Spot before that, yes because i had my own desk area and it was walled up.
