I'm kinda "meh" about it.
just got home from my moms crib so i could give the nieces their gifts and watch them open their new shyt. my moms asked me if I was going to the xmas family gathering tomorrow and I was like "nah." I'm gonna chill in the day time and see what fukkery I can get into tomorrow night
and it wasnt like I wanted gifts and all that shyt because I buy my own stuff anyway. Just ready for 2014 to be done already TBH

shyt is all consumerism now.
But for me the main reason is I missed Xmas in 2009,2010, 2011, while I was locked up. shyt has been just another day since. I will chill with the fam tho. I feel a lot of folks forgot what Xmas is about. Its a religious holiday for Christians (which I am not), yet USA made it a consumers holiday

I care about the time off, excess food and implied family time. It's one of the few ways to see everyone together aside from weddings and funerals.
Having almost a week off, eating good food and playing games is what's its all about for me.

yep its lost its 'feel' just like my birthday has but xmas should resurrect itself when i eventually have kids cant wait to spoil em and see there eyes light up on xmas morning

a few years is tough my man. Welcome back out here. Hope it's a lifelong stay on this side. Yeah it's too consumerism but I see it as time to go nuts on food and drinks and see folks you care about while forgetting all that negative shyt. I'm going real hard in the paint eating today. Traditional Italian catholic type Christmas day food at my aunts house (roasted pig and bunch of other stuff like my uncle's lasagna), and my chick is taking the train over and after dinner it's to her place and we family for a West Indian style Christmas. Rum cake, home cooked ribs with some local brand of rum for a marinade, and some kind of pasta her cousins make. I might actually eat myself to death today. Let's all enjoy this.
