Only because I was raised not to celebrate the holidays. It's never meant much to me other than an opportunity to reflect on myself and my beliefs in the face of so much contrary thought. That is, when I was younger, it was like that. Nowadays it seems a little more hollow because even as adults I see other adults participating in the holiday yet they do it mostly out of habit rather than belief in the actual narrative behind the season. I guess there's a lesson still to be learned. The only thing I get real sad about during the holidays is how everything closes and I'm left with no other option than staying home.

I mean its just a reason for them to get money out of you anyway. Fck you can't give gifts to your loved ones everyday, fck you can't honor your father and mother and appreciate them everyday, fck you can't get with your family everyday....but make it for these special days and time periods when you know your economy is going to get a boost, along with celebrating your cultural rituals..........

I don't even care about my birthday.

You know what, I respect it . Christmas is something you really need like a specific set of things to have, and it's either special for kids who don't gotta worry about paying for shyt or parents who got enough to have big ass family outings n shyt. I try enjoy the day off at the very least.

Also, after a while, I feel like I didn't care if I got anything for my birthday so I feel you n that. I'd rather just celebrate the weekend of .

We haven't even gotten a tree since 2006, you're right it just doesn't feel the same anymore. I will admit however that I do get jealous when I see everyone's pictures on Facebook and Instagram though.
