Step 1 : Get Roku 3

Step 2: Get Plex

Step 3 : Name movies and tv shows to match Plex naming convention

Step 4 : Set Roku for Direct Play

Step 5 : Stream wirelessly to your living room :blessed:

Step 6 : Get Roku for bedroom and other random room your girl set up shop in that you were going to turn into an office :shaq2::aicmon::manny::blessed:

To anyone having problems with Plex and Roku streaming, I would log into Plex, go to settings, go to player, and mess with the local quality settings.
I'm done using this Roku + Plex for movie streaming. I've messed with the settings plenty of times, and it was working for me consistently for like a year, then out of nowhere it just does not stream movies like it used to. I have 50mbps so I know it's not my connection.

Since that started acting funny, I just use my Chromecast + Videostream to play my local files. Over the weekend, I went to watch Lone Survivor on my Roku... started in the mancave, and after a few minutes it started buffering and pausing. Changed the quality settings to a lower setting and it did it again. Then I go upstairs and run it again in the living room's Roku... same thing.

I ran it on the Chromecast and it ran flawlessly without a problem.

Plex is dope, especially the interface, but once it starts fukking up it's annoying as shyt trying to figure out why it's doing so.

Anyone here heard of Ace IPTV? This thing is freakin' amazing. Has damn near every channel you'll ever need (even them porn channels for them late night urges)

I'm about to tell my mom to cancel our TV package (The fact that we still spending $90 on TV to watch only like 6 channels is disgusting).

and their customer service is top-notch and quick to respond to issues as well. Trying to make sure it has all of my mom's requested channels so once I confirm that our TV package is getting cancelled :whew:

I've been with USTVNow but I can't connect my credit card/paypal account to it anymore and they took of TNT for no real reason. I can do without DVR'ing if it means saving money. 20 euros to CAD a month for this service? Can't argue with that.

*and yes, it's easy to sideload onto your roku stick as well*

I'm rocking the Roku 4 but I copped 2 Ultras from Walmart for $64 each so I'll gift that 4 to my parents. I use my Roku all the time. Great investment.
