Yeah I actually still have it in rotation, surprisingly, because I hated it at first.
But I don't know, I think you have to listen to it with an open mind and just let it be what it is. It's not a rap album
He was doing a lot of psychedelics when he was making the album and you even hear the influence in a lot of the experimenting he was doing on the album. Some of the songs are horrible as a result (Judgemental c*nt, Angered Kids, Red Sabbath, The Return of Chip Douglas), there's a few really bad songs on here with awful lyrics, off-beat singing, forced voice.. cringy worthy, really. But music is subjective and some people might enjoy these songs is what I thought.
But there are some highlights on this album, like Handle With Care, Adventures, Insides Out, Fairy Tale Remains. A lot of these had the spirit of OG Cudi is what I thought. Speedin' Bullet To Heaven is actually one of my favorite Cudi songs of all time. Dude is a musician and his style of hip hop has influenced a lot of nikkas rapping today and as an artist, I think he's deserved the right to create the type of "Art" he wants and thats what I took this album for. I didn't like the WZRD and the last album, I think this album is better than those two. Hopefully he goes back to spitting a lot more though, Cudi definitely got jams.
Edit: The skits were horrible though
