I wouldn't even deal through craigslist... I'd rather buy legit or buy a cheaper but similar product...
I use to sell on craigslist but the shyt got old after a while when buyers would show up and try to low ball you thinking you will give in because they showed up.

I've sold and bought tons of shyt, including several phones, off Craigslist. You can check ESN numbers before you even buy the phone to see if it's stolen.
He gave him 600 when all he wanted was 560 or the phone.
I still prefer purchasing from a retailer, much safer....
I sold a stolen MacBook pro off craigslist. I swapped the hard drive and installed a fresh OS. They checked to see if it was stolen and it checked out fine.
I put a 1 TB hard drive on it (originally had 700 GB), and listed it for $1100. It took me a week to sell it because even at that price nikkas was showing up with only $800 or $900 Then I sold a cargo van with a fukked up transmission. I listed it for $2500 but only wanted $1500. They guy low balled me to $1800 which was fine by me. Luckily the transmission didn't skip when he test drove it. He was gonna end up paying at least $1800 to rebuild or replace the tranny which is why I sold it in the first place
Overall Craigslist is for buyers not sellers unless you're on some bootleg or counterfeit shyt. For credit card thieves craigslist is the perfect spot to case out on goods bought with cloned credit cards.

If you not street smart, then stay off Cragislist.
You find great deals on the List, cause that's where a lot of people go when they are desperate for some quick cash, but you also have nikkas on there trying to finesse. Never buy certain shyt off the List, for example, used laptops.
You have to do your due diligence, especially for electronics. Like someone in this thread said, that ESN number should have been checked before any mony was exchanged.
If it's something you have to plug in to check, you better meet them at they house to check it, that way you know exactly where they live in case they try and play you. Most people will advise against going to somebodies house, but I'm not worried about getting robbed, I wish a nikka would
But I advise against females going or non street smart dudes going to someones house.

I copped 3 PS'4s when they dropped so I could resale 2 of them, and I sold them on the List. The motherfukkers who bought them met me at the mall and didn't even attempt to open the box
