Nas's career didn't get revived by a beef. Boost? Yes. If Stillmatic's only good song was "Ether", Nas would've been done. God's Son is arguably better than Stillmatic. Just lacked the impact.

Even LL's runs got boosts from beefs.

GOAT, 10, and DEFinition are not great albums. You could even throw Phenomenon in their. Those albums are nowhere near the top of his catalog.
God’s son is not better than Stillmatic :camby:

Y’all stay talking about cultural/contemporary impact and all that…completely ignoring that Nas is like 52 years old, 🤣, u expect him to be lit with the babies? Was Jigga lit with the babies at 50? Even off him being 52…he’s been here over 30 years, he is a dinosaur. What rapper his age/from his era is shaking shhit??

Is the music fire or nah? He rappin or nah? That’s how you gauge a Nas at this point in his career, this is rap, it’s Neverland. Even off that, y’all sound corny, lol, quality is all that matters man, unless you a silly broad or sumn. But even to entertain you, Nas sells more/shakes shhit more than Snoop, Cube, insert any other rapper from his era, in today’s climate, when he drops. Jigga too scared to drop cause he know what’s up, lol, he got too much pride, if he drop he’s gonna package it with the iPhone 17 or sumn to fake boost the sales.

Now y’all don’t care but when Jim Jones bought up. Y’all run to billboard lol. I’m not asking about billboard. Just a song that when it play’s people gonna know instantly. Nas aint had one of them I’m in over 20 years

also y’all keep with this fake narrative

mchg sold 500k first week after giving 1 million

444 was a tidal exclusive for the first week
gave 1 million away
Still in its 2nd week sold 262k with no Spotify

jay last lowest first week solo was vol 2 in 1998 with 360k

I would say stalemate :scust: .

Nas had some mudane shyt when he decided to do that album with Ye and the bland under the radar Lost Tapes 2.

Hov on the other hand  . Everything after Blueprint 3 was a crying shame.
I fukked with Nasir. I know most Nas fans hated that album, but I thought it was dope.

The Ye album just felt like throaway tracks that ended up being Kanye's mo. Dude sounded so lifeless and bored on that boring ass album.

The lost tapes 2 was sadly forgettable. The irony that the only track I liked from the album was the same track that everybody hated.
