Yes it was it was trying to stunt like Birdman. But as you point out P has many instances of just being a knock off artist.

If we are talking impact, how could the person you are copying not be the bigger impact?

You're saying they copied the idea of being a solider, well who copied the idea of being a HotBoy? come on now.

What I'm saying is there's instances of both camps biting each other. No Limit was just more shameless and overboard with theirs.

Everybody's talking about Pusha T. 504 Boyz Goodfellaz is one of his first guest appearances. He went by the name Terror then.

Hot Boy term was a NO thang way before Juve, BG, Turk, Wayne. Ask about the ORIGINAL Hot Boys and what they did

How is this a question when Cash Money has had the #1 artist in music for the past decade plus?

No Limit may have laid down the business model, but Cash Money has been able to continuously adapt and stay relevant for much longer.

Drake nor Wayne have been the #1 artist for the past decade. They have had years where they were #1, but not consecutive years.

Still doesn't make them more impactful. No Limit doesn't have one relevant artist, but have been instrumental in CMR's success since the 90's (directly and indirectly).

C'mon man you're pulling at straws. Wayne had been the consensus #1 rap artist up until it was Drake, whose been carring the mantle fo an unprecedented amount of time now. Sure guys like Kendrick and Kanye have had big years but overall it's non debatable.

nah

no limit was stuntin in videos long before cash money.

the copying came when they started doing cash money-esque songs like "ice on my wrist".

there was never an instance when P was tryna be like birdman tho. LOL.

No what I'm saying is if he stayed in-house with No Limit there would be no career period.

based on what exactly? and how would this be a knock against no limit?

doggfather was snoop's worst album in the '90s. he was still on death row then, and he dropped albums that were even worse later on. none of which have anything to do with no limit.

you don't seem to realize that snoop's career isn't predicated on music quality. he basically made a career off of the fact that he dropped doggystyle. everything he did for the next 10 years was seen as a huge disappointment in real-time, whether it be death row, no limit, or whatever label he was on. but again, hes the lovable character that made doggystyle, so as long as he dropped a big hit single, people still gave his albums a shot and kept him relevant. then he parlayed that into a Hollywood career.

No Limit was Dr. J.

Cash Money is Michael Jordan.

They a better version of pretty much everything No Limit did.

Got them in every category besides having a major deal first. If No Limit was the spark, CMR is the flame.

Hard to say. They both contributed. Don't forget Suave House with those forever Pen & Pixel ads in the Source that most people reading it had no clue about.

Beats by the Pound were just incredible.

P made a lotta good moves.

Long-term, Cash Money though.

Birdman (and Slim) don't get enough credit with the way they evolve over the years. P was done after Beats by the Pound left.

People thought the same thing with Cash Money when Mannie would eventually leave. It never happened. They never missed a beat. :lolbron:

The transition from Juvie, BG, Big Tymers to Wayne (and to an extent Birdman) being the main focus. Heck, they even signed Teana Marie and got a gold album out of her. To Nicki and Drake. And you could see what could have been with Birdman and Rich Gang had Quan and Thugger stayed together. :wow: Don't forget Jacquees. Jacquees lowkey, has been consistently releasing some solid R&B projects for a minute now. :whoo:

Overall, Cash Money.

You're backpedaling. You said biggest artists in music. Now you're saying biggest artists in rap and even by that standard, we have:

2008 and 2011 where Wayne was the biggest artist in rap. For Drake, you have 2012-2016.

For you it may be (and we're offtopic here again, since it's about influence), but BBTP's 95-98 work is absolutely phenomenal. They still had something hot left in 99 (Down 4 My Ns, Fiend's Street Life album, Mo B's album), but the decline was obvious, they were burnt out
