1. Nas
2. BIG
3. Kanye

I choose Nas over Biggie just by the CLASSIC material of Illmatic and it Was Written. As stand alone albums, they are two the greatest ever
But if we're talking about cohesion, and which sequels fit better with a theme, then Biggie wins that one :yeshrug:
Ready to Die on to Life after Death was the greatest Hip Hop story of all time, IMO the best sequel from the first to second album. The rise and fall of a successful rapper until his untimely death. And the vivid imagery of storytelling of how his life unfolds, and how what he rhymes on his albums, is symmetrical with what actually happened in his life. You just couldn't make this stuff up :ohlawd:

Kendrick and Eminem don't need to be anywhere near that OP list. And Lupe being there is just comical. Me personally, i would go with Nas or Biggie. In the past decade, though, I wouldn't sleep on these 2 MC's debut records:

Also since "Life After Death" is a Double LP. "RTD + LAD" acts like a Classic Trilogy and it literally has 3 Acts.

RTD - Rise
LAD Disc 1 - Success
LAD Disc 2 - Fall

I agree that "Life After Death" is the greatest hip hop sequel of all time over "STILLmatic, Cuban Link 2, Vol 2". Also LAD might be the only sequel ever to litterally pick up where the last album left off. It really was like a cinematic experience. Sh!t even started with "Previously on Ready to Die". It was epic. I also loved that he didn't call it "Ready To Die 2", "Life After Death" was an amazing title and fit the theme for both albums perfectly. The reason I say Big over NaS is "Life After Death" is the tie breaker cause it's better than "It Was Written". RTD=ILLMatic. LAD > IWW.

Ready To Die had tons of filler. Illmatic has no filler. This talk of them being equal is beyond hilarious.

word gotta cosign my n!gga billy here.

eminem and lupe do not have records that are worthy of mention and I didn't like jeezy or game for years after they came out

but they rapping skills improved threefold and those albums are bangers. I say there 4s and I only heard each once.

games albums I felt more than 50s.

I have to cosign this too. ready to die/life after death is literally a blockbuster movie and sequel on discs.

as far as sequels id have to put up cuban linx 2 and the war report 2 as 2nd and 3rd.

they carry the same energy as the originals which is difficult when they bare the same name.

Ready To Die had tons of filler. Illmatic has no filler. This talk of them being equal is beyond hilarious.

I can't agree with this at all and even if I tried your already in the wrong with the word "tons"

state your point without exxagerating

Southernplayalistic + Atliens should be included as well

go one page back and peep my huge post and dap me
