In a 1992 Source feature, 2Pac said that his favorite rap album of all-time was the Geto Boys’ 'Grip It! On That Other Level'.

Nas on Mr. Scarface is Back:
“Back in my little hustling days, I was trying to do my one, two thing. Scarface’s record spoke to me and my crew. Here we are in Queensbridge, New York City and a guy from Houston is talking that talk. His voice, his words, he’s still one of my favorite MCs in the game to this day. I don’t buy many rap albums but I’ll buy Scarface records every time he puts them out.”

RZA on 'Grip it on that other level's influence on Wu-Tang @ 3:35

DMX Shares Story of Meeting Favorite Rapper Scarface

“I was a mess,” DMX admits to The BoomBox. “I’m talking about at least seven chicks in the room, like that type of thing.” This is the scene the Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood creator describes as the first time he met his favorite rapper Scarface at an Embassy Suites hotel many years ago. Obviously, at the time, X was living the fast life.

When he and Scarface united, their talk wasn’t centered on the women surrounding them. They left the hotel room to go read the Bible. “[We] ended up actually shedding a few tears,” the 41-year-old admits.

According to X, he showed Scarface the utmost respect and the Geto Boys member returned the sentiment. “A true gangster is a gentleman,” explains DMX, whose seventh album, Undisputed, is out this week. “He’s a real dude, he’s not afraid to speak the truth and give God his praise, you know what I’m saying.”

While Scarface fulfilled DMX’s expectations, there are plenty that don’t. “A lot of n—-s think they got here on their own,” he says matter-of-factly. “Nah, homie, nah, like really? You talk all that tough shyt, but at the end of the day, put a couple hot ones in ‘em and see how fast they call Jesus.”

Both them albums were classics. Undisputed. But you take it too far when you say they were the GOAT group and solo albums.

What was the context of the 2Pac quote?
Did you listen to the part of the RZA interview where Scarface says he stepped his game up lyrically after he heard Wu-Tang? That after Wu-Tang dropped he knew he couldn't bullshyt on the mic? It starts at about 2:25.

Face was politickin...he probably couldn't even name 3 WU-Tang songs in reality. :heh:

While RZA was going in descriptive detail about Grip it... paraphrasing lyrics and whatnot.

All your rap greats have spoken..Grip It & Mr Scarface are the two greatest albums of all-time. :jawalrus:

Your take on the interview is way off. Face was the one who called into RZA's interview in the first place on some dikkriding shyt talembout "I Love You" :shaq:
RZA would only say "same breh" :troll:

Then Face was going into detail about how Wu-Tang made him step his game up lyrically. All Rza could say was - your outlandish content maybe influenced my side project Gravediggaz.

What do you mean "all your rap greats"?

"They made me step my lyrical game up"... that generic, politick-ish ass response.
:mjlol:

It's clear Face wouldn't know a Wu-Tang song/album from his asscrack, wasn't nobody rockin' wit no muthafukkin' WU back then but cacs and cornball New Yorkers... this nikka RZA was reciting Face's lyrics from 25 years ago off the cuff and basically copped to being a Face creation. And that's one of Face's children. Why wouldn't you say i love you to your own creation? :dahell:

Just think, without Wu-Tang - there'd be no Diary :ohhh:
Salute Face for being humble enough to admit Wu-Tang was better than him.
