Just bought a juicer trying to start juicing. I found a recipe for cucumber apple and celery drink but it didn't give specifications. How do you know how much of each vegetable to use? Do I use water too? How much? :feedme:

vegetables are not meant to be used in a juicer. they can cause cancer after a certain period of time. only use fruits if you're juicing, unless you want cancer, then you'd use vegetables also.

Half a cucumber, 2 granny smiths, 1 bunch of celery to start. Celery juice is very "salty" you may need to work up to adding more. This is for a small cup. Do not add water.
Also depends on the type of juicer you have, some have better yields
So you never add water to anything you juice? do you ever add like peanut butter or protein powder?

No. I have a vitamix too, so I would use that for smoothies with nut butters or powders.
Juicing is a lot of work, so I like to enjoy it pure.
What do you mean a lot of work? like you have to buy it clean it cut it up and juice it? Im not being sarcastic.

I have a masticating juicer like

The opening for the produce is smaller, so everything has to be cut smaller and also its a "slow juicer" so it takes longer to crush up and grind to make the juicer, its supposed to provide a better quality and less oxygenated juice. Also I hand clean it after every use, can take a bit of scrubing on the juice screen depending on what you juice. And of course washing all of the produce.

I heard juice your fruits and blend your veggies before. But I never heard it caused cancer. I have a kuvings can’t remember the last time I didn’t juice.

Yep. You have to put the pieces in super slow and then "push" the greens with an alternating hard fruit or vegtable. Like shreds of kale leaf and then slices of apple or carrot sticks
