Actually, I think 'Life is too Short' is Short Doggs magnum opus.

But overall dude is consistently good, yes but has he been great? I'm not sure.
Depends what you're looking for i guess. People change the goal posts for various artists.
For instance if you put out an unsuccessful,no replay value having album with a ny appeal it can be a classic. If you put out an album of = success but not beloved by ny, people act as if it's a questionable classic.

ice was the only solo rapper to drop 3 consecutive classics.

Jay-z has the most universally accepted classics. (ie: people usually can agree which of his albums are classics, Nas fans are all over the place)

Scarface is the only rapper to never drop a bullshyt verse on his entire discography.

Dre is the best beat maker (if you included all the other rappers albums he produced (or at least produced the majority of tracks for), he clearly has the best discography. (NWA Albums, Chronic Albums, Doggystyle, Marshall Mathers LP, Get rich or die tryin, Encore, The Documentary, Relapse)Etc >http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Dre_production_discography

Redman did too, and arguably 2Pac.

How is it arguable? 4 actually. Thuglife,MAtw,AEOM and 7dt are classics. But i guess will knock off thuglife cause it's not a solo. But for you to say redman did and 2pac did arguably, that's nonsense. 2pac's classics are more iron clad than red man's and by a very large margin.

When you include KRS, are you including the BDP albums? The title says "solo discographies".

I'll just put down Ice Cube, since AMW/DC/Pred is a strong lineup.

I don't think All Eyez on me is a classic because of the 2nd CD (I'm far from alone in thinking this) but if you do I won't argue in which case yes eve tough I think Thug Life, MATW and Makavelli are excellent albums though.

and yes Whut, Dare and Muddy Waters are classics.

i agree about all eyez on me. alot of filler on that second disk. it's his magnum opus sure thing but not flawless.

you right about redman too but i was mainly just referring to the rappers on the list.

Redman warrants discussion on this list, dude doesn't have a weak album in his discography (even Reggie has its moments) and he still has it over 24 years into the game.
