neither player will win unless they leave their franchises. its that simple.
neither franchise will attract a star
none has management capable of pulling a trade for a star
and neither team is bad enough to tank and get a player that is that great in the draft
nor do i believe any team has the know how to develop talent internally like Toronto or San Antonio do

Memphis' ceiling as constructed is a 3-4 seed and WCF exit. Once the Clippers/Warriors/Lakers fall off, NOP will have their number
Sactown's ceiling as constructed is a 7 seed and first round exit until they decide to unleash [a healthy] Marvin Bagley . They also need to trade Hield who I am a fan of but simply wont fit in a backcourt with Fox.

Memphis need JJJ to become that guy that they need him to be. They also need to combine some of those young players and assets and turn them into a more established player especially since they won’t be able to pay all of them.

Sacramento is in the situation where the majority of their young players are due contract extensions, but are no where close to be a playoff contender. It’s not worth investing in the current core long term if their ceiling isn’t that high. They need Bagley to become that guy and unfortunately they likely won’t be able to figure it out before he’s due a contract extension.

JJJ's ceiling is Rasheed Wallace. Wont be enough

JJJ has it in him, I don’t know if he can put it all together. The problems he had at Michigan State are still plaguing him in the league. I’m sure they were hoping that he would be farther along that where he is now, but injuries have played a part in it as the case with Bagley.

They need to combine assets and pull off a trade, but I don’t know who would be the logical player for them.

I dont think they have the ability to develop talent like that
Only a few franchises realllllly do
Theyll need to trade for a disgruntled star. if Embiid is on the block, maybe they should include JJJ in a package for him

Embiid, Morant and a good wing could do business in a few years
Theyll be on a treadmill i think. It aint easy to become a contender in the NBA. If youre not in a big market it takes a lot of luck

Memphis is more suited for reclamation projects rather than actually developing talent.

I have always had the belief that they could have pulled a championship during the grit and grind era if they hit on some young players they drafted actually panned out. That era was the perfect shield to cover how terrible their drafting and player development was during that time.

Morant
Hield
Brooks
Clarke
Embiid

vs

Ball
Hart
Ingram
Zion
Hayes

hypothetically...who wins that series in 3,4 years?

Embiid is the X-factor and I don’t think he will ever be healthy enough to play an 82 game season, so I’ll go with team #2. Although they have 3 players of their own with long term durability issues in some way.

Both have ceilings to being top 3 to 5 point guards in the league sooner than later. Ja may be more of a pure scorer but Fox can score the basket too. Since Morant is taller which means he could play some 2 if needed and the fact that he's pretty much doing what Fox is doing in year 3 during his rookie season i'll take Ja with the brighter future. Though it's closer than most think i believe.

Ja definitely, I don’t see Fox gettin any better than he is right now. Especially playing for the Kings.

I’m almost confident Ja morant is a future superstar..Or at least on the level of a dude like Dame Lillard which is most def an allstar....Fox
Is an all star also bad will be beastly but not on that same level as Ja.
