I remember accidentally burning somebody on both arms with hot grease from the french fry machine. Had good times in there that summer.

Was a groundskeeper for an apartment complex. Had to be outside on foot the whole shift patrolling the grounds. Let’s just say winter sucked :damn: :mjcry:

Construction. :francis:
Labourer. :beli:
Had to clean up around the construction site. Pull nails out of boards. Offload trucks. Sift sand. Work a cement mixer with cement, sand, Gravel.
Work myself to exhaustation as a Dog'sbody over that summer, not knowing that I was supposed to get paid weekly instead of 'monthly'.
Worked for Two months. Whole summer.
7 am to 4pm
Thinking I'd have some scratch for August Festival.
Ask the boss for my cheque.
"What cheque?"
"nikka I've been working whole summer."
"Ask accounting."
Asked accounting.
"We've been sending it weekly to your folks."
"bytch, what?"
:demonic: Yeah...
Yeah, the next summer no matter how much the contractor called and praised my dedication and diligence for working without issue, I took up a data entry job the next summer, editing Land registry files, making sure that I got my cheque in hand, fukk that shyt.

My first job was in HS and had a base of $65 a week with commissions potentially bringing it up to ~$200. Average week was probably $80-95 a week with me periodically making in the $125-150 range (tax free)
The cac who was exploiting us also fed us after work. That was when McDonalds had the Big&Tasty sandwich. We was eating literally and figuratively
Went from Boss jeans, Chaps shirts and whatever Modells were selling for $40 to Guess, Polo and Jordans :banderas:

First real job was at a deli spot making salads. Did that and an order picker at a wholesale flower place for two years to save up for college. Then my brother stole all that money and ran up some debt on my name in my freshman year

Summer before senior year of high school, I was a "lockerroom attendant" for a rec center in the projects.

Minimum wage, mostly was just mopping floors and shyt. The pool was closed all summer for some reason tho so we got to spend a lot of time sitting around playing Monopoly. Was cool for a high school job.

My first job was a summer job working in a window blinds factory at 15. There were alot of middle aged men who fukked up their life working there for minimum wage. The older dudes would always tell the young ones to stay in school so we don't end up like them. It was tough work, had to lift all kinda heavy dusty boxes that would leave me with shoulder and back pain, I quit after 8 weeks.

The highlight of the experience was the time a Jewish guy and a Palestinian guy threw hands on the floor. :pachaha:
