never heard of this dude but i see he incorporates alot of expressionism with his paintings (the second piece and its inclusion of gesture drawing). Some art is just opaque as hell, though.

Some abstract art can be really nice. But most of the time I think these people are trolling. this painting below was sold for 43 million

if i remember correctly this paintaing was done by some guy in the 1800s? or sumthing and it was revolutionary or something because it challenged art at the time in some way, idk. lets not forget to consider the context and the painter himself, friends.

Each individual can define their own canon when it comes to any type art. Most of these "abstract" paintings don't draw any emotional reaction from me so I don't consider them art, it's not about whether or not you "understand" it.

I appreciate more of the talent than the art itself, like I wouldn't be able to draw or paint or even come up with ideas and images like some of these artist.

Abstract art can be interesting, if you have the imagination to form your own opinion on what is being viewed. It's what you get/make of it, the expression from the artist and the impression made on the critique's are both priceless.
