I do think krayzie & bizzy swiped a few melodies off of freestyle fellowship's "mary" song but that's pretty much it.

other than that, bone already had their style when they were stuck in Cleveland.

Twista would like to have a word with you:heh:

twista didn't invent anything.

all he did was rap fast, and that was going on before him.

actually bone influenced twista. he started adding melodic hooks after bone blew up.

You cant really sit up there and say that, when

you can hear every member in bone in the song. Especially the 1st 1:30 sec

Dont get me wrong, i respect fellowship. Dem boys was slept on. But bone aint build a 20 plus multiplatinum career off of fellowship's mary.

The only one i hear in mary is a little krayzie, and thats because he was the hook man and dealt with the melodies. What about the rap flow though? All this is mute though, because the both derived from jazz staccato.

Naw it wasnt freestyle fellowship..that's just a Internet rumor..when eazy called bone to get them signed..bone had never met eazy or been to Cali..so eazy called bone and Krayzie spit a verse over the phone where he was rapping like that..there is also a interview of bizzy at rock the bells saying that they sound simalar but the rumors not true..

But it was the west coast that invented the chopping style..not the old school double timing that New York and Jamaica toasters were doing..so I would think they got the chopping style from spice 1..and got the harmonizing from Crash Crew, Grandmaster Flash and the furious 5, and and another old skool group that crash crew battled..forgot the name

Some people say they were influenced by Freestyle Fellowship. I don't know, as a Bone stan I should probably check into it.

I loved how they had their own vocab and way of speaking, like using the word 'me' in weird places - me killa, me twelve gauge, etc.

Old time dancehall reggae flow.

that 'me' or or 'mi' is from dancehall. before bone went out to the west coast they sounded different.
