Which is why you haven't seen a strong third party candidate since and both dems and rebubs were so shook they passed reforms that killed 3rd parties in this country

ha just talked about that in another thread. they basically removed eligibility for 3rd party candidates to be in national debates because of perot. they need significant newspaper endorsements to be eligible which is the dumbest law in america

Yeap its crazy to me how Perot got 28% of the popular vote in the '92 and '96 campaigns and 3rd party candidates since then combined havent got anywhere close to that percent the past 16 years..I still hold out hope a Ross Perot type guy will come around this generation with social media but then again social media and the 24 hour hack news channels have watered down politics greatly since the Ross Perot era

itd have to be a multi billionaire like perot. trump is too much of a shill to run independent. maybe if bill gates had a nut sack and ran independent with oprah as running partner or vice versa lol

last remarkable win was jesse ventura for governor. he actually got interrogated by secret services after because they wanted to know how he pulled it off.

3rd party candidates like ron paul and rand paul don't know how to use social media. rethugs just take them under their wing and watch them being destroyed.

the straw polls are run to see who and how much they have to work to destroy anti establishment candidates.

article from 5 days ago :dwillhuh:

http://news.yahoo.com/group-seeks-t...lehold-on-presidential-debates-190201225.html

Currently, the CPD applies three criteria: 1) constitutional eligibility; 2) Enough ballot access to have “at least a mathematical chance of securing an Electoral College majority”; and 3) a requirement that the candidate have an average of at least 15 percent of the national electorate in five polling organizations. :beli:

Between 1992 and 1996, the Commission on Presidential Debates changed its rules regarding how candidates could qualify to participate in the presidential debates. As Perot had previously done very well in debates, it was a decisive blow to the campaign when the Commission ruled that he could not participate on the basis of somewhat vague criteria — such as that a candidate was required to have already been endorsed by "a substantial number of major news organizations", with "substantial" being a number to be decided by the Commission on a case-by-case basis. Perot could not have qualified for the debates in 1992 under these rules, and was able to show that various famous US presidents would likewise have been excluded from modern debate by the Commission on Presidential Debates

and from somewhere else:

But, the real decision-makers -- Dole and Clinton -- wanted Perot out of the debates. Dole desperately wanted Perot out of the debates because he expected that Perot would take more votes away from him than from Clinton. Scott Reed, Dole's campaign manager, said, "We didn't want Perot in the debates. Nothing else really mattered. ... We made sure Perot wasn't going to be in the debates." Clinton, meanwhile, opposed Perot'd inclusion in the debates because Clinton was winning by more than 20 points in the polls and he didn't want a wealthy wildcard changing the dynamic of the race.

On September 17, 1996, the CPD's Advisory Committee unanimously recommended inviting only Dole and Clinton to the presidential debates, and the CPD unanimously approved the Advisory Committee's recommendation. The CPD's ruling, however, did not terminate discussion about Perot. In fact, negotiations over Perot's participation had only just begun.

On September 21, four days after the CPD announced that Perot did not have a "realistic chance of victory," major party negotiators met to draft a Memorandum of Understanding. During these debate negotiations, Perot's potential inclusion was used as a bargaining chip. Despite the CPD's ruling, Clinton proposed that Perot be included in the first debate. Clinton had every intention of participating in two-man debates, but he wanted to leverage Perot's exclusion to exact concessions from Dole.

Dole was fearful of Clinton's proposal. He knew that Clinton could force Perot into the debates -- several organizations were more than willing to host inclusive presidential debates. To avoid that scenario, Dole awarded Clinton the right to dictate the terms of the debates (schedule, format, etc.) so long as Clinton agreed to exclude Perot. George Stephanopolous, senior advisor to President Clinton, explained, "[The Dole campaign] didn't have leverage going into negotiations. They were behind. They needed to make sure Perot wasn't in. As long as we would agree to Perot not being in it, we could get everything else we wanted going in. We got our time frame, we got our length, we got our moderator."

Unfortunately, to protect his lead, Clinton desired the smallest possible audience for the debates. As a result, he cancelled one debate, and scheduled the remaining two debates opposite the baseball playoffs. The CPD accepted the antidemocratic dictates of the Dole and Clinton campaigns. Perot was excluded from all the debates; a debate was cancelled; and the schedule was distorted.

bernie would have the same hurdles..so he is probably struggling internally about running D or staying true to being an Independent. He does caucus with the Dems but I have a feeling he won't run. hope im wrong.

that was beautiful how he broke down how the tea party was destroyed by both parties.
i used to fuq with the tea party but the republicans destroyed it.

2. exposing glen beck :russ:. beck has brought him on one of his last episodes on fox news to talk about the economy and the federal reserve. but i respect ed for keeping it g but exposing him as a fraud in the media for only siding with republicans.
beck has completely flipped the last 2 years you'd think he wants to go back to fox news. the bullshyt he says about russia and isis on his page is laughable. it's almost as if he isn't himself anymore.
beck at this point is controlled alternative media.

i know a lot of folks like to say alex jones is controlled too but i don't think so. alex jones talks too much shyt and exposes too much shyt to be a shill.

but glen beck is a shill. he has the racist conservative trollss on lock on his pages. and he knows how to feed them.

i can't trust this bernie guy. my spidey senses tell me he works for the establishment. he's what ed griffin refers in his vid as controlled competition. he'll gain the people's trust just to sell the them out.

he's like that jewish fraud tim wise. he talks all that shyt just cause people want to hear it.
