Everybody knows Lupe especially in his earl days from 2001-2006 used Jay Z flow & cadence as a template, and Nas was the father of his conceptual muses. Lupe on F&L was basically Jay-Z rapping with a post-gangsta era political revolutionary Nas brain… with the vivid storytelling, world building, and left field concept records

Those were his two foundational fathers, the nikka cappin if he say otherwise. But Lupe’s style has evolved so much throughout the years that you cannot nail it down to 1 person. There’s clear Midwest twang to his shyt especially in the early years
