Who Is The Best Rapper Turned Actor?

I'm excluding Will Smith and Mark Walberg as I consider them as actors before rappers.

My vote goes to Ludacris.

He's got The Fast And The Furious franchise. He was in Crash, which won the Oscar for Best Picture. He was in Rocknrolla, a dope Guy Ritchie movie. Law & Order. Hustle & Flow. And he's gonna be in the new season of Empire. He's got it right...

oh, inb4icecube... he hasn't done anything worthwhile since barbershop, save for maybe 21 jumpstreets.

I'll give you queen latifah, she's been in a ton of movies. some pretty shyt ones (like Ice Cube), but still a lot of movies... tbh, I haven't listened to most of her music so i wouldn't have even considered her in this.
also should have said living in op, because tupac was a great actor but died too soon.

you cant say that crash was an oscar winning movies because of any actor... it won because it wove the lives of so many people together n shyt. luda was great in it and played an important role.

also, fast n furious is a massive money making franchise that he plays a significant role in.

luda isnt a good actor, he's good in the roles he's given which are pretty close to who he is. as i said action flicks (and they money they make) have nothing to do with acting - megan fox is a testament to that. the whole FF cast is a testament to that

ti was in AG, that movie with chris brown and idris, ATL...he aint the best actor, but he displayed more range than luda

ll had a sitcom, last holiday, any given sunday, in too deep, halloween

common - can't remember the name of the show he was in, but he was doing well, he was funny in date night...what does best picture have to do with anything?

who cares what wiki says, A comes before R....so there's your actor listed first. will was equally rapper and actor up until about 96, then he got viewed as a legit actor after independence day....then he dropped the multi plat big wilie style!

i'm not claiming all these rappers are robert deniro, but they are better than luda.

I wouldnt call Luda doing what he does in FF significant.
Rock/Vin roles you could call significant. You could insert any rapper into what he does in those films. You could cut his scenes out of all the movies and you wouldn't miss a thing. His stint on Law and Order showed more acting chops than FF, and that's not saying much.

TI also in antman, takers. Also did a good ass job on House of Lies too. You could say he was playing himeself, but I would say HoL TI > Anything Luda.
Common playing Black Mantis in Aquaman. I've watched Hell on Wheels and Common kills in that role. Shows a nice range for the character as well.

I would give it to TI or Common if Will isnt allowed. To Will if it was allowed.
