I agree but I'm curious why you think that. Like, in what ways is Marci the better rapper. And are there any areas where Cole is better to you.
Cole pieces together metaphors better than Marci. Marci is better at just coming up with shyt that nikkas just don't think of. Cole has more versatile delivery. They are very different so it's kinda hard to compare them. It's like the reason why even tho Prodigy wasn't super metaphor heavy and OD with multis in his prime he was one of the greatest rappers to ever touch the mic cause of the way he put shyt together. U couldn't really guess what he was gonna say next. Even tho Roc is nasty with multis and metaphors as well. And he's effortless. He also is funny AF. And it always feels like Roc can just rise to the occasion it's crazy. Son just nasty and one underrated thing about him is he barely waste bars. It's damn near zero filler with his shyt. Also Marci is one of the most witty rappers in the industry.

I pretty much agree. Roc gets downgraded by people for being one note but that’s not true. He’s incredibly witty and always has references that make you realize he reads and watches a lot of shyt. He’s also funny as hell like you said. That’s why he has never been topped in that lane. It’s not super thug raps nonstop like Griselda. Only people on that underground wave who come close to me are billy woods and Elucid.

I respect Cole for how much he has improved as a rapper. Not in terms of flow but perspective and evocative lyricism. He started out as a rapper who was heavy on “I” or “me” nonstop in his rhymes. 4YEO was his best step forward on storytelling and creating characters who felt like more than cardboard.

At the end of the day Roc is on my top 30 list and Cole isn’t. I feel like nobody besides Jay does what Roc does better, whereas a lot of rappers do Cole’s style better.

Yup. This is what I been telling nikkas when they try to say so and so was doing underground shyt before Roc. Nobody wanted to be like them other nikkas. Doom was elite but respectfully nobody wanted to be LIKE Doom. Roc made underground just as cool if not cooler than mainstream. nikka was like if u planted Jay Z in the underground scene. nikkas really don’t understand how important that was and the significance of that. He made the underground fly. And this is why I give Curren$y his props too cause he basically did the same shyt. Them 2 nikkas made the underground cool.

Roc is a legend.

Cole is a bum.

I'm going with Roc.

Marci is literally the most influential underground artist of the last 15 years.

If you don't respect the underground scene then that's cool. But you don't belong in hip hop conversations.
Being underground for 15 years kinda makes his point though.

"Underground" is a sound.

It's not just a scene. Majority of legendary underground MC's stick to the script and make classics, by doing that. So if Roc wants to be underground for 25 years, that's not a knock on him. It's dope to stay authentic.
