pac and biggie were ill lyrically but people like prodigy and canibus were more ill as far as delivery imo but not lyrical.

I dunno, I mean Pac always felt more straight forward to me, sort like how Ice Cube was. Big's delivery of his raps was what really made him interesting, IMO.

I guess it what you mean by lyricism...Big and Pac weren't that complex, but they way that they delivered their raps made them awesome. Pac and Big do have a bunch of quotables though, so maybe that's what you mean...

Canibus not lyrical? Nah, that's pretty much Canibus' bread and butter. I thiink it's the opposite. His delivery was okay, but he was more lyrical.

Agreed about Prodigy though. His delivery and cadence from Infamous though Murda Muzik was something else. His lyrics were great too, but mostly due to how he delivered them...

canibus in his prime was ok lyrically but never a top tier lyricist

and pac and biggie were lyrical in terms of complex rhyme schemes metaphors wordplay punchlines now ice cube was simple imo for example.

Technically, Black Thought. If you wanted to teach someone how to be an emcee using fundamentals, you show them Black Thought. He style also morphs into whatever he needs it to be.

Technically that would be Jay-z, Rakim and Eminem.
Em for probably having the highest peak, Jay for being the technically best all-round and Rakim for inventing almost everything to do with technical skills in hiphop and having bars that still make one :ahh: 25 years later.
