It's The Yankees, hands down. What other team has had the media adopt and regularly use the nickname the team's rival came up with? Think about that for second. The media, who is supposed to strive for a semblance of objectivity, calls the Yankees "The Evil Empire" all the time. They're easily the most hated franchise...yet the most popular at the same damn time.
