Who is the most unfairly hated on athlete

I'd say Westbrook. To me people like Lebron and Kobe back when he was a top player received A LOT more hate but that hate is usually balanced out by them having just as many if not more fervent supporters. With a Westbrook the proportion of hate to support is much greater. Not only that but anytime he has a great game it gets attributed to playing with Durant or he'll still have to share a headline with Durant. He'll put an amazing game together and instead of getting hyped up national media will come out saying Thunder won't win because Westbrook was scoring too much.

There was one game in the playoffs where Westbrook outscored Durant by like 10 points and the headline was still Durant leading the Thunder to victory. Doesn't help at all that he plays with the #1 media darling in Durant.

Damn you hit the nail right on the head. Westbrook my favorite player. Son gonna eventually have to break free from Durant though.

I'm on the fence about Sherm. One on hand:

- People bytch about "student athletes" who don't take school serious, Sherm excelled academically at Stanford and tutors kids back in Compton

- People like my uncle say my generation needs to speak out on social issues more, Sherm is one of the only athletes I've heard speak about the double standard in how black athletes are perceived (ironic as said uncle is from Chicago and stans who wouldn't dare put white people on blast for fear of cutting into his shoe revenue stream, shoes that are materially worthless that young black kill each other over btw)

So the fact that Sherm isn't praised as a leader further reinforces my view that young black men are the most negatively viewed group in America

On the other hand, we know damn well Sherm is the way he is in part to piss people off with zero fukks given

Everybody in baseball was using PEDs; hitters and pitchers included. The outsized hate towards Bonds (and even ARod to a lesser degree) doesn't match the unspoken love and forgiveness the same media and sports world have for blatant cheaters like McGuire or suspected ones like Ortiz.

No one has faced higher expectations since he was 18 than Bron and he's, amazingly, lived up to them. Yet he still gets a crazy amount of hate.
