I'd say Westbrook. To me people like Lebron and Kobe back when he was a top player received A LOT more hate but that hate is usually balanced out by them having just as many if not more fervent supporters. With a Westbrook the proportion of hate to support is much greater. Not only that but anytime he has a great game it gets attributed to playing with Durant or he'll still have to share a headline with Durant. He'll put an amazing game together and instead of getting hyped up national media will come out saying Thunder won't win because Westbrook was scoring too much.

There was one game in the playoffs where Westbrook outscored Durant by like 10 points and the headline was still Durant leading the Thunder to victory. Doesn't help at all that he plays with the #1 media darling in Durant.

Makes sense...he does take some crazy shots and sometimes is out of control, but that's what makes him so hard to stop too, and other players do the same...

Since when does the reasoning being clear make something fair? :heh:

It's easily Lebron...the rules have been changed in order to shyt on him. Playing with other stars is heresy. Losing in the Finals is worse than losing in previous rounds. He caught more shyt for a TV special than other nikkas have caught for DUIs, domestic violence, or even rape charges. I gotta say he flipped peoples own bullshyt on them something vicious. :whew: As far as fans go I totally get Cleveland fans feeling the way they were feeling in 2010 but lets keep it 100, it was cats from around the country who gave no fukks about Cleveland pushing that shyt. MIA fans have no basis to feel salty. You can't :dj2: and :umad: something for 4 years and then turn around and be  about it when it happens again...only this time it's flipped.

Vick is pretty much irrelevant at this point and Tiger is heading in that direction.

:comeon: at the Romo :cape:ing. If he was to so much as go to one SuperBowl all the "hate" would disappear. McNabb caught more shyt and is still regarded as a choker despite winning numerous playoff games and going to a SB and doing so without an elite receiver for the great majority of the time. shyt Manning blows Romo out of the water in stats and postseason success and still wears the "choker" label.

While I do think Lebron gets some unfair hate (regarding the decision) I find it funny when Bron fans complain about him being unfairly held to a higher standard.....yall talk about him being one of the GOAT's all the time but u wanna hold him to the same standard as every other player? Seems to me like u wanna have it both ways. When you crown someone the GOAT the expectations and criticism will be much higher than for your average player. shyt like finals records will be brought up when MJ is 6-0 there. I dunno why that's so hard for Bron fans to understand :yeshrug:

I have never crowned him GOAT and we aren't talking about your average player. We are talking his peers and other all-time greats.

Despite being an eagles fan I gotta say it would be Tony Romo. Everyone has him painted as the choke artist who can't come through but it just not true. I feel bad for that man. Who you got that gets worse heat then him

:dahell: Breh, Romo is a choke artist. Every time they lose a big game, he's the one fukking up at the end.

The way I see it is that stans of athletes are hated more so than the athlete themselves. It is seen practically everyday on forums/message boards/blogs. :gladbron: and :childplease: are prime examples.

Thread title clearly says "unfairly". Now look I never crucified Vick as he committed a crime and did the time but it's laughable for his name to be mentioned in this thread.

I hear you that dogfighting and torturing dogs is very scumbaggish, but for the whole trial and sentencing to be in 2007 and for him to STILL be #7 on the list of top 10 most hated athletes last year ( http://sportslistoftheday.com/2013/02/06/the-top-10-most-hated-athletes-in-american-sports-2013/) is straight up :snoop: status, especially since more players did terrible/excessively arrogant actions in that timespan to warrant a spot on that list.

Bron for sure, dudes set unrealistic expectations for him (not just on the court, but in everything he does off the court...the hate he got for waiting 10 days to say he's going to cleveland...wtf), even contradicting themselves, just to hate.

This is gonna be random, but Marshawn Lynch :heh: they had dude on one of them most hated athlete lists, now that was pure unfair hate, dude literally does nothing to be on anyone's radar one way or another, that shyt had me :dahell:

I think Romo deserves the hate IMO, for as many haters, there are twice as many dikksuckers who make excuses for him and/or try to place him in the elite (top 5) tier when he's not.
