Who is the next leader of the Democratic Party?

Chris Murphy is someone that I've had my eye on for a while now as a potential Presidential candidate. Really knowledgeable about foreign policy, thoughtful, etc.

For the posters that are further on the left, I would guess Murphy is a bit much of a centrist/too establishment for you to support his full platform. But I'm curious about your thoughts on how he speaks about the adoption of neo-liberalism by Democrats and says that the changes implemented under the Biden Administration were positive but not fundamental/structural. What do you think specifically of his economic message?

He’s someone who could get the union guys back and has a proven track record of good economics. He has brought the most private sector investment to Kentucky than any governor in Kentucky history. Chris Murphy is an interesting character. Have been following him for years. He does these once a year walks across the entire state of Connecticut.

His opinion on gun rights is (understandably) formed by Sandy Hook. How does that translate to a national platform? He's pragmatic and pliable.

He's taking the lead on this idea of a crisis of confidence amongst men. In a way that few other Democrats have done, he's noticed this trend of men and young men drifting towards Tate/Peterson/Rogan, and he's speaking on it. Light on solution as of now, so let's see whether he can flesh things out.

On foreign affairs: he's more open and honest than most. I remember him admitting we tried to pull off a coup in Venezuela . And he's not a war monger. He appreciates history and the idea of the United States serving as this counterweight to the autocratic side of the world, but also open to compromise. On the middle east he's more Obama than Biden. Not as anti-Israel as I'd like but not a dikk rider like our neo-cons and Zionists on here

Economics and domestic policies? He's reasonable and mainstream. And pragmatic and pliable. I see him going with the wind on a lot of issues and then following through with rational arguments. He's not one to lead the conversation if it's not one of his favorites but he will provide reliable backing once the winds are in sails.

Oh and he is separating from his wife of 20 years so he's not running for president in 4 years

The party needs a fundamental realignment. A precise definition of a true North beyond "We're not Trump" that can be executed to at the presidential, gubernatorial, and local levels

That eliminates any current favorite for 2028. They're more likely on short term ism: what do I need to do to win, and no more than that. The party head in the next 4 years needs to be much more than that, otherwise we'll be here laughing in 8 years about how the Democratic nominee lost to Huckabee Sanders
