Stunning Steve, Flex Kavana and the Prototype became legends never say never in this business
Great wrestler and personality
Great personality
Decent wrestler with some personality at a time when they wanted a generic white meat babyface

Roman Reigns has none of these qualities. That's why he's moving over to make room..... for Carthage Conquest.:youngsabo:

Anybody who keeps blaming "smarks" for how Reigns looks instead of booking needs to sit on a broomstick if they aren't already sitting on one.

Or even worse still blaming Daniel Bryan. :bryan:

Wrestlemania 30 was three years ago. THREE! Fans can't hold a grudge for that long (except maybe Canada :skip:).

I feel that smarks would have ruined Hogan and Austin in this era too even with the same booking they received in their respective eras. :yeshrug:

Can't speak for hogan because I never watched most of his shyt but I've been watching a lot of stone cold on the network and all his shyt holds up. Pretty much everything he did was entertaining as fukk, same as the rock, mankind, vince and others. Even lower card guys like al snow and godfather where doing something interesting.

Roman can't hold a candle to stone cold. He doesn't have the charisma, mic work or ability to tell a good story in the ring to do what he did and comparing stone cold to Roman is an insult to what Austin did.

The fans aren't wrong for not enjoying the shyte WWE is serving up right now.

The Stone Cold character was meant to be. Wouldn't be a face in the 80s but he would of been a huge heel. Rock would of been the heel of the 80s too. So he works across any generation. Reigns doesn't have one money promo since 2012. It's kind of sad. Ambrose has already destroyed Cena on the mic before that triple threat with AJ and Cena after Cena tried to bury his credibility on Talking Smack. Ambrose can turn heel and be something big. Reigns has a ways to go.

While Roman doesn't have the outward charisma of Rock/Austin/Hogan, I do think he oozes this quiet, Clint Eastwood-type swag that could have crossed over well into the mainstream, especially with women. :yeshrug:

He has that Batista vibe to him to imo ( that's not an insult, I loved Batista). A guy who doesn't talk much trash but can explode at any minute. But guys like him need to be booked right or they will fail.

Batista had a great HHH storyline to get him over and it worked great. Roman has had nothing like that.

The failure of Roman is a combination of him not being talented enough to be the true "top guy" and them giving him the most transparent forced push I've ever seen. He never stood a chance with booking like that.

This.

Its why they have an assembly line of dudes that they can just put in spots since everyone gets injured from working 4-5 days a week.

They dont want guys to transcend because then they get leverage and pull and therefore get paid more. Look at all the shyt Ryback and Punk have said. Look at the way the product is booked every week.

WWE wants the attraction to be WWE, and not The Rock or Cena or Roman Reigns or whomever. You think Vince wants another guy getting big to the point that they can call CM Punk in the middle of his ring?
Yet they got big old Stars to headline their biggest PPV of the year, because they DRAW. If that is WWE's business strategy. It is absolutely moronic to long term growth.

I can see Braun, but he would need to be a Larger than Life superstar. That takes more than Wrestling, it takes a feel of, "Man, I need to see this person."

That's not just charisma, but a certain command, because you believe your the best for the company; so like an Alpha Dog of the roster.

Closest have been Brock and CM Punk and maybe Daniel Bryan and Batista.

But Punk and Brock got more mainstream pub and crossover with other audiences

This is true.

A lot of marks will hate for no good reason, champion a wrestler & drop em fast with the quickness.

The thing with reigns is that he was getting hate because he was looked at as that dude by the wwe first & foremost. They were still salty over Bryan

He didn't just spontaneously start being shaped to be cena like with the catchphrases & what not. That's something that happened gradually & he was receiving hate before that character change even happened.
