Goku didn't need to go Super Saiyan against them bums tho. He already knew he had that shyt on lock, walked up to Gohan with zero fukks about Racoome, and gave him that senzu bean. Then went on calmly and embarrassed the hell out of Frieza's elite force.

It's no comparison to when Frieza killed Krillen, Goku just hit that nikka with a spirit bomb and barely gave him a scratch. Goku was out of options, the look on his face when Frieza was standing on that rock. It would have went anyway, rather Frieza killed Piccolo, Gohan, or Krillin Goku still would have transformed.

Goku is a shytty dad when it comes to parenting but if any nikka was to teach me how to protect myself and fight it would be him. Bardock did what he had to do, he saw the prophecy, he wanted his legacy to live. And Bardock wasn't responsible for sending Goku, they sent Goku to carry out a mission to destroy Earth, because he was a low class and they felt no fighter on Earth could withstand him.
