Corey Graves had years of indie bonafides before he entered the WWE system. He was a promising wrestler until his rash of concussions. He taught himself the art of commentary to save the only career he's ever known and feed his family. He's hardly Byron's junior, and more legit by any standard.

Zero personality, charisma, weak anemic voice, makes weak nothing points and his role as the pro babyface cheerleader would even make Gorilla Monsoon blush. even if that were true, there's room for that. i mean what was so great about sean mooney? you need straight men as interviewers and commentators sometimes.

if i had a choice between saxton and JBL i would actually take saxton because i think he's actually serviceable in his role. JBL tries wayyy too hard imo.

I turned on Raw the other day and there was some new young cac talking down to Byron Saxton just like Bradshaw and King used to do. I kind of understood it from those two because they are OGs of wrestling but I'm looking at this Corey Graves cac's bio and he's two years younger than Byron and hasn't been doing commentary as long. I know the new guy usually is the one who gets the little brother treatment from the senior commentators but I don't think anyone gets ridden harder than Saxton.

From the black wrestlers rarely holding the title belt to Teddy Long getting emasculated by Stephanie while wearing a choppa suit to Byron Saxton now getting shyt on by cacs younger than him it seems like WWE is still rife with racism. I'm conflicted being that I actually enjoy parts of the product because the 'cism is still so blatant.

Graves is the heel commentator. Whether he was green and Byron was purple it's Graves job to shyt on him

From what Rob Naylor says, Saxton is well liked, but I gather he's content in playing that doofus stooge role on commentary. It's not a question of seniority.

FWIW, I think the 3 man booth was exposed on both shows this week. Graves didn't say a single word for the first five minutes of the show. Not a single word. Smackdown was a clusterfukk as well. JBL was constantly talking over the top of Ranallo and Otunga. He was horrible.

Wrestling announcers are always bullied and disrespected on screen, the only ones who don't are colors and Byron is not a color (commentator that is ) Not to mention the actual real off air bullying of guys like JR and Tony Chimel. Why is this thread acting like the Josh Matthews/Tom Phillips/Kevin Kelly role hasn't been a staple of wrestling broadcasting since the 90's

1- that shyt is played out

2-that don't make or mean it's entertaining

3-Is this the lesson we really want the E to teach us?

That's why the commentary on LU, TNA, NXT, hell even that CWC been better.

No one cares about these guys trynna get they self over by bashing the next guy.
