The voice might have been a little outrageous but Nas flow was sick on here. I personally like this song and played it repeatedly when HHID dropped.

dude is the anti-christ of this culture.

You art barr. You singlehandedly killed hiphop with your bitterness and utter lack of emceeing abilities. You went through'd the tables of hiphop.

I believe Nas was speaking of letting the industry take control of the music and changing its direction. The lack of creativity in the music and the move towards money has caused people to sellout. Slave mentality...Maybe he's speaking of the South or maybe he's speaking on everyone who's played a role in basically forgetting those that came before them. I really don't know for sure but the concept was dope never the less.

You tell me what you think...

I had the cd but my ex gf broke my shyt in a fight. Y'all reminded me to go on iTunes and cop the album again.

But the song was in theme with the album. The whole album was about how the hip-hop he loved and grew up with got corrupted and distorted with the greed of corporate america and commercialism. It was a cool concept and the voice was cheesy BUT THATS THE POINT. Its a play on noir films from the 20s,30s,40s and 50s. If you listen to it, its quite clever.

My dear old friend Art Barr, it is both amusing and saddening to read his posts. As he slips further and further into dementia his hate for Nas only grows stronger as it is the only thing from his former life that remains. His b-boy skills have long faded, his ability to backspin is no more, he is no longer a welcome guest at open mic nights at the YMCA and he cant even get a guest spot on the new Vakill or MC Juice mixtapes.

His mother recently moved him into a home of his own in hopes that he would find peace in his twilight years, unfortunately he is just becoming more and more bitter, angry at the world for his own failures and projecting this anger at Nas. Of course Nas is the obvious choice, he is everything Art wished himself to be, he is the last pillar of true hip-hop culture in the mainstream, he has had a successful 20 year career as a hip-hop artist, he is respected by his peers, by the younger generation and by the great pioneers of hip-hop and of course, KRS One is a Nas stan and dedicated a song to the GOAT Nas.

Art, I am saying this not to upset you, but because I want you to understand that it is ok and that you are not alone. You are just like the rest of us normal everyday people. There is nothing wrong with that. We are not hip-hop superstars who you need to impress, we are just like you, we love hip-hop and we love to share our views. Please join us

I would love for Nas to break down the lines on this record

"While these dudes compete on who's the star of the show"

Is that referencing Doug E and Rick falling out back in the day?
