alot of those artist on that list because of impact they had for that time not for they quality of music. who really out here listening to run dmc? or melle mel? or ll cool j? cmon now. Those dudes couldnt even wash cole drawers let alone see him on a verse

What "great" songs and albums do Run DMC and LL have?
As someone who grew up listening to J Cole lol, Radio, Bigger and Deffer, Mama Said Know You Out & Mr. Smith are better than any J Cole album IMO.

I personally wouldn't rate any Cole album above a 2.5/5. Which is about average on my scale. If the list is based off MC skill alone I would shuffle Cole a bit lower but if its based on overall act which includes imo the most import part of any artist in any genre, the ALBUM, then he is lacking behind.

J Cole is a better RAPPER than Kanye West. And he most definitely is better than Gucci Mane

Only in terms of technical skill.

Both Gucci and Kanye are far more ingrained in hip hop culture than Cole will ever be.

They have more impact and influence. They have more hits. They have a better ear for music and talent. They have far bigger contributions to the culture.

Gucci neither has more hits than Cole or a bigger impact on the culture. If you erased Gucci Mane from Hip Hop history the genre doesn’t suffer nor skip a beat

This is a damn lie we wouldn't have Young Thung, Young Dolph, 21 Savage, Waka (who shaped the way hip hop sounds today, well at least Lex did) just to name a FEW if it weren't Gucci. Boy I cant believe you actually typed that shyt.

You have zero idea what you're talking about here.

Zaytoven, Migos, Nicki, Rich Homie Quan, OJ, just a few more to add to the list.

It's a reason why he's a God out in the south.

hes only better than 1 of them

and biggie wrote her rhymes, hardcore would get my spin before any jcole album

all those other people have flavor, charisma and status outside of rapping in a terribly put on voice and being extremely average
jcole is basically a producer that has the freedom and heart to rap but his music is forgettable outside of a few songs
that arent even worth mentioning in a top 200 hiphop song list

you can name 1 song from 90% of artists catalog thats better than all Cole's shyt put together

since its multiple coast list, you wont get a straight forward clear cut list of who's better
people already trying to shyt on the Westcoast and South, when those dudes got more iconic better songs by far

Y'all nikkaz may need & to go back listen to Cube. He is arguably the most influential West Coast MC his impact has been felt for decades. Bringing up streams :snoop:.
Ice Cube is my favorite rapper out of the 90s, but his style is super repetitive. I can see why he fell off after Predator.

Drake shouldn't be in the top 10...

X made that music that cats could feel and relate to.

Who can relate to Drake crying over a woman?

X would have snatched the bytch
I'd argue that Drake should be top 10 just based off of his popularity and longevity. There are a lot of rappers on this list that I'd say were better, but most of them flamed out after 5 years once they peaked in popularity.

Drake has been top 3 for going on 12 years now. That's unprecedented in the music industry post-2000.
