I made under 40k until about 2016 (made exactly 40k). I bullshytted for years and didn’t take my studies seriously, so I was in and out of school. Got tired of making so little and wanted to advance my life so I went back, graduated, and started a new job that paid much more immediately after graduating.


In short, take school seriously brehs.

Until I went back to school and finished my bachelor's I don't think, no I'm sure I hadn't cleared 30k. Was only hourly. Once out of school, interviewed briefly and blessed with a job at 44k, on salary for the first time ever in my 30s

When I was in grad school...fukking $24K a year

I taught some college classes when I was getting my degree, and they pay like $5K per class over the semester. Somebody had the nerve to say $5K a class is like making $50K a year, if you taught 5 classes each semester. Thing is, we weren't allowed to teach more than 2 classes a semester. Plus, I can't imagine teaching 5 classes a week, prepping lectures, grading projects, and taking graduate classes that make you read like 200pages a week, per class?

It was worth it though once I finished and got the degree
