For me it's not about t*ts and gore. I want games to both give me gameplay and tell me a story. To me the good story part outweighs even the good gameplay part. I'll play a game like Tales from the Borderlands with minimal gameplay because I liked the story for example.
I want a cinematic Zelda that's fun to play and hooks me from a story perspective with characters that have voice acting. I want another Super Mario RPG like the one Square made back in the day.
Nintendo is not interested in storytelling. Their focus is solely on gameplay. My personal taste and their philosophy are just very far apart now. I can take a game like Fire Emblem that's a bit lighter on story but still has one and has interesting gameplay but I need a story to keep me interested.
As for Pokemon I'm too old for that now. When I was a kid we took the Gameboys to school and played each other. Even then I was on the older side in the 9th-10th grade playing it. I'm in my mid 30s now. people my age aren't rivals in Pokemon. The whole fun of those games was being rivals with people in my neighborhood and meeting up to play.

Its just looking up on wikipedia breh, 'We Happy Few' is brand new, people know next to nothing about it so they check wikipedia. Thats why this kind of survey is skewed.
'We Happy Few' looks cool though. Is it coming to steam? Indie games often just die on X-Box/M$ platforms.

You dont go on facebook, twitter talking about the game because you dont KNOW ABOUT THE GAME YET. everyone knows zelda. thats a fact. So to have people do actual research to want to find out about something is a sign of its INTEREST(which is what the numbers are reflecting. INTEREST not popularity per se). we know you can talk about something you hate on the internet and it will become popular. still doesnt mean you like it. it could mean you hate it. a wiki lookup means you saw something you liked and enough so that you had to do some more in-depth research.
