To the person saying Islanders cannot swim despite being surrounded by the beach like seriously stop talking out of your ass.
My whole entire fam is from the WI's along with other parts of the carribean, and I KNOW a majority the Islanders (and ALL that I know) can swim your "fam" is ddefinitelyin the minority

I wish there was a real way to measure this because I'm positive I'd come out on top. Whatever everyones experiences will differ.

While it's funny as fukk what happened I can relate to dude. I almost drowned when I was young so for the longest anytime my head would go underwater I'd start panicking like this dude. I had this reaction in a lazy river and going down a slide and the water splashed over my face. I was flailing my arms going crazy and heard somebody say just sit up.

I took two beginner's swimming classes recently and just now getting to the point I can stick my head underwater without going nuts like him.

stick with it. I learned at 8 by jumping in the deep end and almost drowning. Lifeguard had to pull me up. After I calmed down I went right back in the deep end and I started to "swim"..Like with anything it's easier to learn as a child because there is no fear yet.

I almost drowned as an adult going tubing down a river.



It was something similar to this and mind you I had never done it before. I plopped right in like a pro.

water started picking up I'm moving..I was confident till I got spun around and hitting dips backwards. That's when I started panicking. Luckily nice white folks on the side of the bank decided to help me out as I was quickly losing control. I definitely would have drowned if I kept going by hitting a large rock or something. I was scared shytless.
