I don’t ever remember hearing slow music out of Miami until after Texas put DJ Screw on the map. Everything out Florida actually always seemed faster than most southern rap.

It’s crazy, because Broward is know for “fast music” and speeding up the tempo.

My folks had it as slowed down R&B, I never heard rap until it was chopped like they do in Texas.

I’m not saying Florida made the shyt. I don’t think we did but I can say I never heard “Screwed” until I was older. It was just called Slowed Down around me.
