I'll never pay for an album again unless it's a collector's item or something

I spent mad dough on tapes and cd's in the 90's those days are over

I like buying albums.

I've got OCD tendnecies so I like collecting shyt and admiring a deep record collection.

I dunno..........it's weird, I find I enjoy music I purchase more than the stuff I d/l. There's something about physically owning an album, looking through the booklet, the sleeve, that makes the music feel more special. Music has kinda become disposable with downloads.

Don't get me wrong, I download like crazy but there's certain artists and albums that I still would rather purchase.

I buy music from artists I want to continue working and producing music of the same quality. If everyone stops buying music, quality is going to go downhill and half our favourite artists will probably get 9-5's.

I bought 6 albums this month, I ain't broke, so I'll cop albums and go to shows to support the artists making music I love. I actually get a lot more out of an album I purchased as opposed to one I downloaded, give it more listens, stays in rotation longer etc.

I'm cool with buying things that I really like, its part of being a consumer.

Most people aren't like you. Most people are lazy and just want high quality music all in one location with a rating system to help them weed out what they don't like and whats new and what isn't' and they're willing to pay for that.

That's why Itunes was/is so successful.

 i would rather purchase everything, but shyt is 10 bucks a CD so i've seen myself buying less and less, but i went and got that statik and cole this past week (woulda picked up mac too since he's an independent but i didnt see any)

i prolly got 300 or so CDs :merchant: from collecting the days where shyt would just come out every tuesday and you'd just pick it up

ive seen the number go down every year and my laziness become greater, but one day I hope to have like a 'den' or walk in closet where I can keep all my cds and old shyt so i can go back in and reminisce. or just pick one up load it up and listen to it

i doubt i'm gonna be able to keep up with music coming out this fast beyond my early 20s, eventually most of what i'll have is this music and whatever survives the hard drives or laptops

:smh: i also see myself buying more event albums and less of my favorite albums of the years, i'll go out and pick up cole or kendrick lamar but i'll forget about a michael kiwanuka or grizzly bear at the end of the year
