This is clearly a Mobb Deep scenario. Daz was decent as an emcee but crazy on production. Kurupt was the complete stand out as the emcee. Then time passed and Kurupt regressed while Daz stayed dope with the production and kept his emcee skills. Same shyt happened with Prodigy and Havoc.
I was TOTALLY thinking this when I made my reply. Daz's consistency makes him better in my eyes :yeshrug:

:whoa: let's not act like he produced streetz iz a mutha in it's entirety. Honestly he produced my least favorites songs on the album. Organized noize, bink, and fredwreck had better tracks.

I wasn't saying that. I was saying that he oversaw the project and basically executive produced it. He steered Kurupt back in the right direction musically.

well kurupt was clearly the better rapper.
but daz' raps were more catchy and he did most of the beats.
so i say its an even split in terms of their overall value to the group.

i feel the same way about mobb deep, even tho prodigy gets all the glory. havoc is just as important. and prodigy shouldn't be mentioned amongst the goat solo artists like hes mentioned either.

EDIT: i thought i was being provocative, but apparently yall beat me to this post
all the way down to the mobb deep comment. I LUV IT.

I'm gonna draw a comparison here that might have y'all looking at me crazy, but here it is. The people that prefer Big Boi to 3k are going to naturally like Daz, and the people that prefer 3k are going to naturally prefer Kurupt. I'd argue that they are some weird inverse of each other, but it basically boils down to this. Daz. like Big Boi, is going to give you the consistent street shyt, and not take it too far out. Cats like Kurupt, or 3k, more of your typical "artists" (in the sense of taking shyt far out at times) are going to gravitate to them. Y'all feel me?

Edit: to take it further, someone already spoke on this a little bit. They mentioned you didn't know what kind of a verse you were gonna get with Kurupt. (Now I know 3k is far more consistent with his shyt that R Brown has been) Higher risk, but also higher reward.
