Who was the Better Player Allen Iverson or T-Mac?

AI was my guy back in the day but at some point you gotta grow up and be realistic. T-Mac was Kobe East for a couple years there. The only reason he's not more recognized or accomplished is because he was one of the most unfortunate superstars ever. AI was one lightning in a bottle ass run in 01 from having the exact same playoff fate as TMac. nikkas forget that AI never made it out of the first round again after that Finals. He didn't carry a team full of scrubs he was the designated scorer/chucker on a great defensive team. nikkas forget that 6ers managed to compete in the ECF game that he sat out. As the Bulls showed us this year, a great defensive team is gonna hang around and will be hard to beat in the playoffs. AI's legend is bolstered by that one season, his size, and his "realness/street cred". If you take the "rose colored that's my undersized scoring champion that me and my nikkas grew up on"glasses off the choice is pretty easy.

If Iverson would have played with another scorer in his prime his scoring totals would've gone down slightly, but his assists would have been higher and his fg% would be better, not to mention he may have won a chip.

As for the in their prime argument, Mcgrady never had a peak like Iverson did. Iverson averaged 33 pts one year Mcgradys high is 32 pts. Iverson averaged 26 ppg, or more, 10 times, Mcgrady did it 3 times, Mcgrady wasn't a good defender, he had like 9 inches on Iverson so no shyt he averaged more rebounds, other then that he shot marginally better than him, but not enough to matter, so what did Mcgrady do better than Iverson besides being a better team player? And as for that Iverson's heart made up for his selfishness in his prime, especially considering the team he had around him.
In their primes Iverson averaged around 23-24 shots a game, Mcgrady averaged like 21-22. Iverson averaged over 7 assists per game 6 seasons, Mcgrady only had more than 6 assists per game one season. How is Mcgrady a better all around player? He did almost nothing better than Iverson.

Its close. AI was a ball hog volume shooter that demanded shots and didnt pass much. McGrady had a better all around game tho. AI was fearless, dude was 6ft and would go at anybody. But he also took a lot of bad shots
