Eazy was the heart and soul of the group. Everything from the way they dressed to the content of their music was Eazy's actual life. Dre and Cube were the creative masterminds musically but Eazy's vision, authenticity, and shrewdness is what made their delivery so impactful.

one thing i gotta admit Eazy gave them the image & platform of being a gangsta rapper. he really lived that life.

I hate to discredit the rest of the group but

Who started N.W.A? All of them
Who put up the money? Eazy
Who was the initial draw? Eazy, because they made him come out first - he didn't even wanna rap
Who gave the group credibility on the streets? It wasn't just Eazy
Who came out with a solo album first? Eazy, because they made him come out first - he didn't even wanna rap
Who got Dre on board? Yella
Who recruited Ren? What do you mean?
When the Straight Outta Compton video was banned what video stayed in rotation? We Want Eazy ...because they made him come out first
- he didn't even wanna rap

shyt, when they went on tour they were billed as Eazy-E and N.W.A. They're tour in 89 was called the Eazy-Duz It Tour.
...because they made him come out first - he didn't even wanna rap.

I fixed this for you.

For as much as Eazy-E was the heart of the group, Cube's writing was what gave the group and Straight Outta Compton gravitas, not that DOC wasn't a great writer in his own right, but the group never sounded the same without Cube.
